Rollin' Down That Lincoln Highway
Day two of my Substack. Thanks for tuning in and humming along. Today I would like to tell you about a song I wrote back in 1996 called Rollin’ Down That Lincoln Highway. The story of the coast to coast road has already been told by several author-historians, but recently one of my Substack pals Darcy Maulsby ( Keepin’ It Rural ) published a cool book on the Iowa portion of the highway.
It is really a great read, and captures the spirit of the men and women who made the route possible. When you get to the last chapter you will even find a mention of my song….thanks Darcy!
I am going to try and insert a link here to my favorite version of the song:
If you happen to be living in one of the towns along the route and need a song for some promotional purpose, please contact me directly for easy low cost licensing. Special thanks to my musical guru Denny Osburn who arranged and played on this version released in 2003. It can also be streamed on Spotify, Amazon Music, or Apple Music. Thanks for listening & keep rollin’ !
